Puppy pick up time is such an exciting time for families and their puppies. This page discusses the time frame for puppy pick up.
Most of our puppies stay with us until they are 10 to 11 weeks of age and receive extra training. See our Trained Puppies Page for more information.
Puppies not staying for our training program need to be picked up when they are 7 weeks 4 days of age. The vast majority of our puppies go out at 10 weeks with additional training. Therefore, we start training for all puppies including those picked up at 7 1/2 weeks at 6 weeks. Puppies left longer than 7 weeks 4 days will have training fees. See our puppy questionnaire for details.
Option to Pick Up Day After Visit
For those traveling long distances, we offer the option of visiting with us one day and doing a “quick pick up and go” on the following day. The visit can be the day before puppies are 7 weeks 4 days. The pick up must be on the day puppies are 7 weeks 4 days.
Two Hour Individual Pick Up Appointments
We schedule 2 hour appointments starting at 9:00. Our last appointment ends at 5:00. (The last appointment time begins at 3:00). Because of duties with our dogs and puppies, we cannot meet before or after these hours. One exception is our quick pick up and go” which can be as early as 7:00 a.m.
Early or Late Puppy Pick Up
We will occasionally let a puppy go up to two days early. However, we will not let a puppy go before 7 weeks 2 days for any reason. If you need to pick up your puppy after our normal pick up day, you will need to discuss our availability ahead of time. We make meeting with families a priority during our pick up days. However, we may or may not be available outside of those days.
We do not keep puppies for any reason past the stated pick up day for trained puppies. For most of our litters, that day is when puppies are 11 weeks of age. However, for some litters, we give the option of leaving your puppy up to 12 weeks 6 days. Check with us about your particular litter.
