Shortly after Micah came to live with us, I knew that I had to have one of his daughters (and sooner than I could breed one and raise her myself). I asked Micah's breeder if she would consider sending me one of his best daughters, one already health cleared, and started in the show ring.
She agreed to send us Kate and we couldn't be happier. She is very much her daddy's daughter: a big girl with lots of bone, a super head, great conformation, and good movement. She also (like her daddy) loves people and is super affectionate. If she can get to me, she sticks by me like glue. She has a sparkle of love in her eyes that is totally irresistable.
Kate is a super loving dog.....beautiful and a strong mover. She does very well with children of all ages. She's also very gentle and tolerant of puppies (any puppies, not just her own). She is large for a female (over 70 pounds at a lean muscular weight) with a beautiful head, coat, and structure. She loves to play outside and is really funny to watch with a toy as she throws it around like a big puppy. She is trained well to walk or jog on a leash and has good house manners. She waits on release commands before passing through doorways and gates. She is a happy happy dog with a lot of personality. She LOVES people and loves to be petted and loved on. She also gets along well with all of our other dogs (including our little mixed breed). Though she is a little more active than most of our dogs, she definitely has an "off switch" and will sit for you to pet her for as long as you'll sit. She is still young (not quite 3 years old) and still has a full active life ahead of her for someone who wants a dog to "go and do" as well as to "sit and chill". She has been very well socialized with a wide variety of people at our home, but she hasn't been taken out away from home much in the past year and tends to put her paws up on us as if to hug us when she's nervous (only away from home). We've taken her out several times in the past couple of weeks and she is making progress in this area, but she needs more work to build confidence. She's not prone to barking when in the house, but if someone should put her outside alone for more than just a potty break, she tends to bark. We are looking for a home for her with a family that has a lot of time and love to offer.
